Baguio is a well known city in the Philippines due to its
weather and climate. Considering that the Philippines is a tropical country,
Baguio is unique for the fact that it as a chill climate. Its geographic
location gives the city a cool temperature. Baguio is know as the "Summer
Capital of the Philippines" due to the fact that people in the lower areas
climb up the city to escape the scorching heat of the lowlands. Temperature in Baguio
goes down as far as 14 degrees Celsius, a perfect vacation get-away for tourist
who would wish to enjoy the cool climate of the city.
Kennon road is the primary passage way up to Baguio city. It
is the fastest and the shortage route to the Summer Capital of the Philippines.
Beautiful sceneries await tourists as they pass along the valley. The famous
Lion's Head sculpture is located in the center of Kennon road. Tourist would
stop by to take pictures beside the 40-foot sculpture. However, due to steep
roads, sharp curves, blind turns and landslides, it is hazardous and dangerous
to pass in Kennon road especially in rainy seasons.
There are several sites to see on the occasion that one is
in Baguio. These sites are a must when visiting the city of Baguio. The famous
Mines View Park gives a breathtaking scenery of the incredible mountains and
mines found in the province. Burnham Park is located in the center of the city.
A man-made lake is located at the heart of the park. Numerous recreational activities
can be done in the park. Camp John Hay was once used as a Military Camp, which
was off-limits to Filipinos. Now, Camp John Hay serves as resort for tourist.
Several recreational activities can also be done to help tourists relax and
enjoy the beautiful city of Baguio.
